Since doing the must use rub-ons challenge, I have done a few more cards using predominantly rub-ons, including this one, which started out as my sister's birthday card... It wasn't going the way I wanted it to so I decided to do it up as a "just because" card instead. Then as I was getting ready to stamp the sentiment, I started to think about how nice it would look as a wedding card. Since Eric and Michelle were attending the wedding of one of their cousins, they were dropping off my grandson for a sleepover. I asked if they would like a wedding card and to my delight the response was yes! So from virgin cardstock to creation to a new home in under two hours - definitely a record... lol Flowers were cut from a K & Co paper stack, ribbon is CTMH, rub-ons are from Hambly and the bling is from Dollarama. happy scrapping!
passionate for all things "scrapbooking"? me too! and this is the right place!! after all, isn't it really what life is all about... :)

a challenge to use at least 3 rub-ons
Over at Paper Secrets (again), one of the May challenges is to use a minimum of three rub-ons. Well I decided to step it up and use only rub-ons and I really like how it turned out! Unfortunately, the package didn't say whose they were but they were a dream to put on. I did add several pearls to the flowers but didn't think it needed anything else... happy scrapping!
why wear sneakers when you can wear boots!!
Alex, my youngest son always cracked me up because he refused to wear shoes as it was so much easier for him to just pop his feet into his boots - no laces!! and that face... love him to death :) So for the details - I used this layout for the second challenge in Scrap Your Axx Off at Paper Secrets - paper is DCWV Summer Stack; flowers, brads and buttons from my stash; rub-ons from Daisy Bucket and dry embossing on my sun! The title font was cut from Boys will be Boys cricut cartridge.

hoppy birthday michelle!!
It is my daughter-in-law's birthday today and she loves frogs so I had to do up a card with a frog on it!! I love the greeting... hehe After taking the picture I added googly eyes which really brought froggie to life! I couldn't find a lily pad flower so I created my own version that didn't turn out so bad at all. This is my first twisted easel card (used a tutorial by Mary at CardzTV) and it was surprisingly simple to make. It's amazing how a little twist can add so much. happy scrapping!!

tri-fold graduation card
Wow, two posts in one day... hehe... I have been busy scrapping and wanted to share this tri-fold card I made based on a tutorial from Sheila at She's a Sassy Lady. This is a really great blog for easy to understand and follow tutorials for your gypsy. Typically, my preference is for larger cards but I do like the substance to this tri-fold which is 4.25" x 5.5" (or A2) in size. I used Cricut's Locker Talk cart for the images and Gypsy Wanderings for the sentiment which was clear embossed so it would stand out more. The inside was finished with a white piece of cardstock for writing a note. happy scrapping!
flowers for me!
I love flowers and ever since I saw the flower tutorial I used for this card, I have wanted to make a bouquet. I found a tutorial for an origami flower (shown separately below) that is more three dimensional. I used wooden sticks wrapped in floral tape for the stems, which I don't recommend as they have no flexibility but this was late at night and I wanted to finish them. It would have looked far nicer if the stems had some bend! ... oh well, next time ... happy scrapping!

challenge sketches - I think I like them!!
I am really liking doing challenge sketches and they sure have some good ones at Paper Secrets! I may just get all of my pictures scrapped and still have time for cards and other projects...
This first layout was done for Challenge #1 in the Scrap Your Axx Off Challenge where you have to do a new challenge each week until there is only one person left!! Could be a long, long time... lol. For this one I used K & Company's Que Sera Sera paper (I think I own the entire collection!) and miscellaneous embellishments. The challenge was to use the sketch and 5 of 10 listed embellishments - I used flowers, brads, buttons, misting, dry and heat embossing - it really was a challenge!
The second layout was done for the National Scrapbook Day Sketch Challenge and I am happy to say I won!! ... although I do have to tell you that it was a random pick win but a win nonetheless... lol The papers are from an old CTMH paper pack called Laid Back and the grass borders are from an old set of CTMH stickers (Rustic Trail). I cut the title with my cricut - think it was the cindy loo cart but can't remember for sure - still not used to paying attention to these details.

National Scrapbooking Day Cards
I was very busy scrapping all last weekend (so what else is new... lol) participating in some challenges over at Paper Secrets. It sure is a good way to get thinking outside the box... In any case I needed to do up a couple of cards and they fit in with their challenges so it worked out perfectly! If you are looking for challenges, they have some very interesting and challenging ones going on.... happy scrapping!!
The first challenge was to use ribbon, two pattern papers (mine are from My Minds Eye and American Crafts) and several embellishments (all from my stash). The stamp is from CTMH.

The second challenge was to use red, turquoise and white together. Now I would never have put these colours together but I am quite pleased with how it turned out. The paper is Rouge de Garance from a monthly kit I bought and embellishments are from my stash. The sentiment is a rub-on.

Happy Mother's Day!!
I have a terrific daughter-in-law and I created this card for her - I hope she likes it!! The flower comes from a tutorial on Capadia Designs using a 12 petal flower from the Cricut Paisley cartridge. In a later post Diane also shows the flower created using a 10 petal flower from either the Forever Young or Serenade cartridges. I do recommend you check out her tutorial as it is full of pictures and very well done. The paper is from an old American Crafts stack called Play but it is new to me (clearance at Michael's - gotta love it!) and I picked up the ribbon at the dollar store. Now back to scrapping the day away...

Home is Where the Heart is...
A friend asked me to do up a card for her son who has recently moved into a new home and this is what I came up with. I love making these pleated flowers and how different they come out depending on the papers and the type of border punch you use. Stamps and cardstock are CTMH. The paper and buttons are unknowns from my stash... happy scrapping!!
